Painting

When I was in high school I went to a friend's house and on one of their walls they had hand painted pictures of all their children. I loved it! So when I found out that one of our good friends was actually a great artists I asked him to please paint my kids! So, this last week he finished the picture of "Rojita". Yes, that's her new code name. I was so excited, he did such a great job.

Thanks Shawn!

ah ha! so you are joy! of course! i remember where that name comes from. :)
this painting is awesome. my grandma had paintings of my mother and her two siblings on her wall and i loved them.
rojita is very fitting. i think it is probably a good idea to be careful with these things. you never know when somebody crazy might be reading along. thanks for sharing with me!

I think I know that friend. He's painted his own kids and put them in the entry way. how neat. she's a beauty.

Oh how well he captured her! I bet you are just in love with her all the more now and catch yourself just staring at how pretty she is - in real life and her portrait!

Why Rojita?

The only spanish I know is, "hola"! But our good friend who does speak spanish has always called Aly "Rojita", which has something to do with "red", referring to her hair. Funny, I've never really asked what the exact translation is.

Oh hi there! How weird, I just had a little burr under my saddle. Hey, I love that painting and I know I act as if I want everything Joy has but really I was just going to redo my "wall" and thought I need special pictures of my family to put there. Can you hook me up with your friend? That is so cool!!! Great job with the new site and name. Love ya! : )
